What is Itch!

What is itch
It may be the bitch, that just crossed you.
may be the bouncy pitch, due to that you hurt.

What is itch
It may be the ditch, that sweat you while digging.
may be the eldritch, when it feels to be in a strange country.

What is itch
It may be the bewitch, when it magnetized the audience with its trick.
may be the flitch, like a longitudinal cut from the trunk of a tree.

What is itch
It may be the hitch, when I jerked while driving.
may be the snitch, when close one turns to informer.

What is itch
It may be the twitch, when got a sudden pinch.
may be the switch, when things are not in your ways.

What is itch
It may be the glitch, couldn't find a bug in software testing.
may be the stitch, used for the needlework in hemstitching.

Quote of the blog: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” - St. Augustine
After a long time we (Gaurav, Mrunal, Nitin, Praveen, Sandip, Saurabh alongwith me) were gathered to roam around another unvisited place. We started gathering the information about the Rocking land - Akamas, but we didn't. I am referring here the rocking land, with the land itself full of rocks, not where some rock star born, or any rock band going to perform. But we were really going to rock there at the rock land. Earlier we were having this plan on Saturday  so that can relax on Sunday. But some of our friends were busy in office work (due to recession period in industry) and some in other stuff. So plan seems to be all in vain. Somehow during Sat night I pinged/communicated to all of them to get ready at 10 AM max. But besides me & my flatmates, all were ready on-time  You can think of, the level of excitement. We manage to start our rocking journey only 40 mins late :-) with some quick calls/complains.

We had some snacks in the midway and near the Paphos Mall we halted at McD. Hunger finished with burger, and in a short while we reached Agios Georgios. Now it was time to give some pose for our next orkut/picasa albums. Even some of us were exploring inside the caves of the rocks and watching panoramic views. Now we were towards our planned destination. We turned towards Akamas Peninsula. We had another break near the Lara turtle beach, where you can find the turtle tracks as well. We couldn't see the sea turtle nest. Due to time shortage, we drive by the side of rocks to "Avakas - Nature rail" as suggested by Gaurav. (So he enjoyed there again)

It was really awesome place. One rock was like a bridge between rock walls above us. It's time to capture another array of snaps. No-one wants to miss any moment there and everyone was trying not to hold the cam. We found there reef limestone, grain-stone and many more. (couldn't remember other names) At the end, we finished our journey with the pleasant sunset.

Quote of the blog: "Mind and body, like husband and wife, do not always agree to die altogether." - 'Sachin Kumar Gupta' customize a quote by 'Charles Caleb Colton'

Trust me try this, it takes only few seconds.
This is so funny that it will boggle and toggle your mind. And, you will keep trying it at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot. But you can't!!!

Now do this,
1. While sitting at your desk/chair, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" (or anticlock motion by hand) in the air with yourright hand.. Your foot will change direction!!! I told you so.. And there is nothing you can do about it.

Make sure you pass this on to your friends. They won't be able to believe it either!!!

Quote of the Blog: "Marriage is the part of life-cycle as coding in SDLC phase. So code carefully; Bug fix may cost alot." - Sach

After a long time, I was attending an Indian wedding, that was one of my closest friend - Prashant Singh Rana. In the hostel we used to call him Bapuji - Saadhu Mahatma. So finally Rana got placed in the social institution. Due to this, I rescheduled my home leave plan to India long time back. As expected many of our batchmates (Sandeep, Sachin Kumar, Abhijeet, Gaurav Saraswat & Bhatt, Shiv bhai, Anish, Chandu, Ankit, Jagwani, Captain, Mahendra, Raj, Rubi, Asthana), juniors frm IIIT came as per the mentioned address. Some of them (including me) got confused due to 2 nearby Shiv Mandir there. Everything was happenning as per the specified muhurat and planetary positions. We were cracking jokes and pulling each other's leg. Now its time to capture some moments of the eve, had the group photos alongwith the groom.

Now its time to rock- jump on the Delhi roads; i mean, we were proceessing with Band & Barat. Our group initiated the dance and whatever song it was, we were in the Bhangra style. Sometimes, Above us Metro train was running but everyone was busy in dancing. Rana also wants to dance but couldn't, due to some terms & conditions :-)
Now the barat reached the place where Deepika bhabhiji was waiting for Prashant. But Prashant couldn't hide the smile as well that he was desperate to see his loving bride face. Now it was time for the 'Jaimaal Karyakram', But bhabhiji beated in the game over stage (where bride and groom used to put on the garland to each other with the support of their family and friends). We also had a group snap with the couple.

Then we had dinner there. In the meantime some of our friends already left the place due to next day office and some always have their excuses. We proceeded towards the 'Saat Phere Mandap' where Panditji was preaching Sanskrat Shlok with proper explanation. Prashant had full attention to those words. We were staying there in a room where we shared our 1 yr experience in the comp, places we visited and our M.Tech. days.

After that couple came up for their dinner and Prashant introduced us with the bhabhiji and we had some chat. After that it was the time of tearing - Vidai :-) and we were on our ways after that. Iti Shri Deva Khande Prashant-Deepika Vivah Sampanna Bhavati ;-)

"Heartly Congratulations to Deepika-Rana to gain entry into The better half of your lives, With your life's BETTER HALVES. Wishing you a Happy Married Life".
This blog is for those friends who couldn't manage to attend the Vivah and for those who manage to attend the connubial to remember those moments, and dedicated to conjugal couple.

October 5, 2008

Its really the type of adventure we had very few in our life that can be counted on fingers. I don't know that for doing all this, how could I get prepared. Few denied for this adventure here as well. People used to walk on the ground, somtimes even in the air (By plane) but this experience was amazing, really adventurous (very few have tasted that) , really the different one - Walk under the Mediterranean Sea.
I had never imagined that I'd walk under the sea among the fishes, octopus, different sea creatures and sea plants. May be , The thought of being under all that water gives you all the shivers. I was also a bit scared as I was null and void in swimming and been in the sea water only twice before that(The first time, I bathe in the sea water, here in Cyprus only). The snaps may not get you that touch that I feel under water, But the videos really give you somewhat touch of our couragious adventure.
UnderSea Walk with Sachin

The same company organizes the walks in both Protoras and Paphos(near coral bay). Thanks to Subramanikandan Somasundaram (Mani) who initiated this plan & to Prabhmeet who forwarded this event mail to me & to Pavan who give us ride. Earlier we were enquiring about Protoras because in Protoras they take us into the sea by a boat and lower us down by a ladder(whereas in Paphos, we walked into the sea from the shore). But that time, due to weather changes, for the time being Protoras was also being operated as walk from the shore. We choose Paphos because it was closer to us. We need to start asap because we were in 4 batches, 4 people in each as per the filled timeslots in the excel sheet. It also gets more windy in the afternoon and it would be difficult to do walks that time.

Directions: Go to the Paphos tourist area ( Kato Paphos)
-Take the route towards Tombs of the Kings, Coral Bay
-After approx 10 Km, reach the Coral Bay junction(between the main road and a road to the left)
-Take the left turn. After a few hundred meters, take another left turn.
-Now you will be near Ascos hotel.
-There is a sand road on the right side, which goes to the beach.
-The undersea walk event was there.
The actual fee was around 28 CYP per person, but we got some significant discount as we were in group. The charges includes the snaps & videos taken by them during undersea walk(25 CYP).

Some important tips & tricks:
  • You need to carry your swim wear, a towel, change over clothes, drinking water and anything else you would like.
  • Time taken for each batch to complete the walk was approx 30 to 45 mins. So be there at least 15 mins before the schedule time.
  • Listen the hand movements code instructions carefully before going for walk, because it will help you to move all around undersea and will help in case of any problem.
  • While feeding the loaf of special bread to fish there, don't create too much movement, otherwise fish will scatter away.

I have the undersea organizers mobile numbers, 96354952/96537613, may be they are still avail on these numbers, If you are dreaming to dare it!!!
The sunlight within the water really soothing. It was the real time experience like the undersea screensaver going on live. When I watch my videos, It seems like I am watching the very special Discovery Channel program. Yes, We are the Undersea Walkers.
If you are in some other mood of adventure, then enjoy - Rock Climbing in Cyprus

October 1, 2008

The day 28 Sep 2008, was celebrated as Cyprus DOTS (my convention) - "Day Of The Sea"
Every year IMO celebrates World Maritime Day. The exact date is left to individual Governments but is usually celebrated during the last week in September. The day is used to focus attention on the importance of shipping safety, maritime security and the marine environment and to emphasize a particular aspect of IMO's work. Cyprus government decided to celebrate it on 28 Sep with the support of the member companies, CSC (Cyprus Shipping Chamber), Main Sponsors, Supporters and media supporters here. I think they choose the best place near Limassol Old Port (Limassol Promenade area).
You can watch out the youtube video here: ' ''Day of the Sea'' Event 28 September 2008 '
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obE2FQiEUls

The "Day of the Sea" Event was open to the general public and included various events and children's activities such as bouncy castles, stilt walkers, face painters, games, competitions, food, music, aiming to entertain children, as well as other activities that provide them with the opportunity to get to know the Cyprus Shipping Industry, and the employment opportunities that exist in Shipping.

There was a worth-watching international photographic exhibition "Of the Seas" at the seafront promenade area, near old port, Limassol. There was maximum three photographs from a single country, various parts of India. There were many photographs from National Geographic and others with the sponsor as Limassol Marina. The other photographic exhibition "Limassol Sea Whisperings" organised by Limassol Municipality, which included photographs from the construction of Cyprus ports and also of the broader area of the twons & villages of Limassol, Larnaka and Famagusta.
During the day, We (Ankit Shah, Parikshat, Gaurav, Nitin, Ankit) enjoyed a lot. Thanks to Ankit & Gaurav for giving me ride. Other activities of the DOTS - "Day of the Sea" Event included various sea competitions and demonstrations, for example sailing boat, kayak and rowing competitions, jet ski racing, Kite surfing demonstration, tug boat demonstration, air-sea rescue drill and water polo matches. The proceeds of the Day of the Sea Event donated to the 'Make a Wish' Charity Association for a good cause, which fulfills wishes of the children suffering from cancer.
It was really a thrilling sea/air rescue operation, in which a helicopter flies over the sea safeguards men in the sea, signals to the men in the sea and rescued them safely. It was like a hollywood stunt we watched live. While watching this rescue mission, many people were capturing the moments in their cams, and the promenade & the pier area was full. After that there was live music and dance entertainment till night.
So this blog is the remembrance for those who were present there, reminiscences for those who missed it or could not manage to be there and souvenir for all of us.

Quote of the blog: "Live the excitement & thrill on the biggest coolest splash on the island"
The Biggest, coolest splash on the Island. Winner - Europe's Leading Water-park Attraction. Fasouri Watermania features the largest selection of attractions and slides in Cyprus and beyond! Everything from breath taking Black Holes and Kamikaze Slide to a relaxing Lazy River… You can watch the slide-show of various snaps taken at the waterpark.

We just got the tickets from our amdocs office with some rebate. We already postponed our plan 2-3 Sundays as per the availability of friends. Finally the day came, We wants to enjoy the full day, so the group (Vinay, Praveen, Saurabh, Mrunal including me) reached on-time there. We also purchased some snacks on the way itself, as We came to know that everything is much costly inside waterpark (yes, We are misers !!!). It was the day of amusement and learning for all of us.

Equipped with the largest wavepool and lazy river in Cyprus our experience at Fasouri was not only guaranteed to be memorable for thrills, probowl experience where lifeguard saved us, but also for the sense of tranquility it offered us with its surrounding hectares of mature green and landscaped gardens.
We assured you after probowl slide & black cannons where lifeguard saved us from drowning that, experienced lifeguards secure each and every ride offered at Fasouri. We learned the Water Lear, don't take the things lighter, whatever it is - Water or anything else. I got another life when I safely out of pool after probowl-slide.
There is an interactive centre specifically for toddlers and you will find single-double-triple tube slides, wave pool, six lane mat race, wet bubble, free fall kamikaze, cross over lemon-pool and other slides & pools for amusement.
We all did a slide for the daring one by one!!! "Free Fall Kamikaze". If you wanna to Gooooooooooo for this, take a deep sigh (get set), get anohter deep sigh (ready to Go)... and just release your body - Gooooooooo!!!! We showed we can do it. Can U?
We enjoyed in lazy river around it approx 3-4 times and similarly in the wave pool. We just keep our eyes on wave-time, enjoyed the tide building up around us inside wave pool.

You will get there free parking, lifejackets and sunbeds with umbrella. You have to pay for locker there. After too many steep plunges and breathtaking thrills, we feel hungry, so to fill our appetite we enjoyed our snacks & several food outlets there. There is something for everyone there: Makai Pool Bar-Squeeze Juice Bar, Wiki Wiki Cafe, Pirates' Cove Fast Food Restaurant, Grill & Pasta House, Ice Cream Kiosk, Canal Restaurant.
You can also get seasonal memberships with unlimited admission and various other benfits there. Shuttle Bus service available from Limassol and Paphos.

Quote of the blog: "I called up my friend, I said 'I want to tell you a new story', he said 'Not you again'."
As I started writing this blog. I just realized that I am releasing the blogs on the Fridays as Hollywood and Bollywood movies. So here is another movie.. sorry .. this week's blog for u all. You will be amazed to know that you will save money after reading this blog. This will really save your money. Now no need to hang up the calls while calling your friends, relatives and dear one. No more miss call-miss call game! This blog will be useful for naive users of Voip as well as for those who are already using Voip services but need cheapest call rates.

Just you need to have internet connection, the Voip id, and credit your account. By all this you can call to any destination in the world with the cheapest rate plans to any mobile or landline number. You can even do free call to alot free destinations* like US, UK, Australia and many more.

* Free destinations and conditions vary as per the VOIP service provider. Rates are also subjected to change anytime. So keep on checking at regular intervals. Eg: Max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days and per unique IP address. Unused free minutes cannot be taken to the following week(s). If limit is exceeded the normal rates apply. With your FREE DAYS you can call for free to all the destinations listed as free! when you have no FREE DAYS left the normal rates apply. You can get extra Freedays by buying credit.

I have picked up some Voip links from the bunch of Voip sites as per my experience. For India calling freecall and intervoip are the cheapest one currently. You can get the calling rates just clicking the rates tab in the specified site. So choose as per your need that most suits you:
Some very easy - basic steps to use these services (5-10 mins) :

  1. Go to the site. Free download the software as per your OS.
  2. Run the exe as per the instructions shown (Pretty easy steps).
  3. Select Language. Keep on selecting Next, till Finish. S/W Installed.
  4. Create a new account with name, password & other details.
  5. Test your bandwidth.
  6. Configure your audio devices ( Speaker, Microphone)
  7. Make a test call. Just Finished.
  8. Now you just need to credit your account with any internet card.
  9. Verify your own number and use them as caller id for your calls and SMS.
  10. You are ready to make calls through your PC to mobiles or landline phone anywhere, anytime, anybody.
If I don't know about this cheap calling sites, I would be paying so much money for international phone calls to India. Let your family and friends from around the world keep in touch with you without running their phone bills through the roof. You can talk to your loved ones, GF or BF cheaply internationally. You can also share more sites if it is cheaper than the described above.

Quote of the Blog: "Walking with the friends in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."

As I STARted to write about my first safe prime blog, then I thought what it should be all about. Surprisingly, I realised that today is 5 Sep, 5th and last working day - Friday; so something to write about 5; Five STARS ***** What Say! So you will be thinking that I will write about related to 5 stars hotels, movies, cities or something akin to this. But It is about Five STARS; If Chetan Bhagat can write about 'Five Point Someone'. At least I can write about "FIVE STARS in IIITM" Now, It will be clear by seeing all these snaps, what the blog would be all about.
Now going back to institute hostel life.

There is a history :-) behind selecting the name for 'The Five of us' - Hum Paanch ( 5 STARS ). Amazingly we finalized the name (***** 5 STARS) (Sachin G, Tarachand, Ahlad, Rana, Sachin K) and we were living in the same floor in the nearby rooms - we called it 5 STARS Flooring - Yoga & Straight Cricket Floor. I remembered we were living at the second floor rooms S-67 to S-71. The scene of running trains in the night, from this floor, was really soothing. Even as we finalized the name, Rana pasted the templates and A4 prinouts on our floor. I still remembered the day, once, we got one big watermelon and enjoyed it while saving from other eagle eyes, dog nose - hostler friends and for this we put our mobiles in vibrator mode.

My room (S-67) was MM (Music & Movie) theater, and a free entry casino - playing cards room. Tara's room was study center but for a short while, as we all got placed soon. Ahlad's room remains in tranquility, as It was research room and our secret talk room. Many plans were designed here, and exploded in the whole institute. We have Rana's room as Facility center - It was our kitchen, Filtered water board, Massage Center, Clinic, NewsPaper reading center, 'Halwai Ki Dukaan' and many more. Sachin K's room was the 'bakar' - Time Paas Talk, mobile-problem solving, cricket score-board room.

Once someone taken our group snap, and we were standing in the STARS sequence without any intention of our naming order, that we realized later while looking at that snap.

Now, What I say about myself (S G); I am having all the qualities a bit only that other stars have. he! he! Tara is a hard worker but involved in various scandals, and gets attention of others very quickly. Ahlad is really a lady killer, researcher and an intelligent guy of our batch. Rana was the most famous among all juniors, hostlers, colleagues, and known to all from security-guard, mess-worker to the director of the institute. Sachin K was dominating Rana very often. SK is sensible, realistic, and a cool guy. All of us are dance freaks a bit or more (I think, Attached snap certifies this.)
I still see the quote on the Tara's orkut account having the above snap "..........5 Stars Familly..........Jo Hamse Takraega Fida Ho Jayega.........." As 5 fingers make a fist, We were like a family in the hostel in real sense. Its not like that we never fight, Yes, We do. But some of us resolve the case within 5 STARS court itself. :-)

Be it SG's boring pravachan, Tara's scandals, Ahlad's L-story, Rana's 'Kamble Kutai' - 'Beating all around wrapping him in a blanket', SK's birthday,5-STARS parties and many more. I learn a bit or more from each one of them. Hats off for all of them. There are too many small memories, that gives me too much happiness, while remembering and even thinking of those institute and hostel life. I will write about some of them in my upcoming blogs. The hot news is that I am supposed to attend the upcoming Rana's marriage in Nov. Please feel free to paas your comments friends. So this refresh blog is the cherished memory blog dedicated to the 5 STARS. The below lines are customized by me for you all dear:

we will be friends...
as long as stars twinkle in the sky...
as long as angels are there up high...
as long as sun gives us light...
may be sometimes we fight...
'til oceans run dry...
and 'til the day I die...

Quote of the blog: "Please consider the environment before printing any page/mail"

I am here writing now my first positive non-Fibonacci number blog. "Four is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself." Still thinking something for the future, I think of something about 4G. This time I am not talking about 4G future technologies those describe the next complete evolution in wireless communications, but I am here to tell about my own terminology 4G - GGlobally, Grow Green; This 4G is for our Global Garden.

"I am not a preacher, I am a pleader." We have to take actions to help the environment from now on. I am glad that people want to take actions. By all this we can stop the climate change, can make our lives better. We can do today to help reduce & minimize our environmental impact, save money, energy and live a happier, healthier life.
Do More:
  1. Turn Off the lights, when you are not using it; Save energy.
  2. Shut the fridge door to keep the cold air in; Conserving energy.
  3. Switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs(CFLs); Use very less energy.
  4. Drink Tap water for free than bottled water; reducing plastic consumption.
  5. We need to minimize our water consumption while using it in any form; Save Water (H2O).
  6. Plant the tree; Go Greener.
  7. Combine your routine shopping trips with other errands and bring your own reusable bags; Save you time, fuel and preserve resources.
  8. Choose to walk, ride a bike, or take public transportation as possible; Better transportation means less global warming.
  9. Print only the pages you need using double side printing; Save Paper,Save Trees.
  10. Spread Globally about conservation by telling your friends and others; 4G.
There is a good green article to make the difference.
There is a nice video worth to watch - "Go Green - A movie to awaken all"
I saw a great work in an ad. "Save Trees, Trees Save" really the truth (top right snap). The onus of making this initiative successful lies in our hands. By all this means, we can have our four Greek classical elements (fire, air, water, earth); during four parts of a day (night, morning, afternoon, evening); in all Four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter); and in all four cardinal directions (north, south, east, west) around our globe all time.

We have the responsibility to keep our planet free of toxics, dioxide emission and to reduce waste of natural resources in order to provide a safe to live planet to our children. Remember, even small efforts from us, will lead the better future world for our future generations. Don't think, Just 4G; Go Globally, Grow Green.
One more thing, I would like you to insert to your mail signature the slogan below. "Please consider the environment before printing any page/mail". By this way we will announce/communicate to the entire world that We are considering the environment and taking actions for preventing the environment destruction. I am not an expert so if anyone else have great tips and suggestions. You are heartly welcome. Please leave your comment for everyone to read for 4G.
Please consider the environment before printing any page/mail...

Quote of the Blog: "There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary and those who don't."

I am here to add-up my 3rd blog. So what could be better than writing something about the future of the world. I thought too much, finally I encountered in the third dimension. Yes, DDD not Delhi Door-Darshan, 3D :-). I think it will revolutionized the world more and more as time will move. I think everyone wants to see the things realistic. 3D will show the world face in all dimensions. Although technology in the content applications and multimedia applications are in the finger tips now a days. I think 3D theaters, 3D TV, 3D movies, will be all around in bulk in near future. 3D graphics supported displays, PCs, Laptops, mobiles, TVs and other applications will enhance. So the 3D will change the face of animation and movies in near future. The 3D technology will be useful in medical industry for biological view of every part of body, entertainment industry for videos and computer based games, future generation buildings and archeological sites, security aspects in crime detection for intelligence industry, Automobile industry for future generation vehicle designs, scientific research, simulation of a real world object into a computer using 3D modelling tools and many more.

It will help us to know more about the child growth in the womb, study of animal kingdom, Artificial Intelligence, 3D sattellite images beyond the earth of other galaxies and stars. 3D view of objects sitting at home will be great way to visit a place before you go there. Google Earth http://earth.google.com/ now shows the 3D panorama flows from view to view. You can explore rich geographical content, save your toured places and share with others. You can even rotate the object online using a doughnut-shaped scroll bar and explore the visual wonders. You can also access the magical world from your PC, just enable a tiny utility Vista Flip 3D Activator.

I still remembered my engineering days when I used to draw 3D images in the 'Engineering Graphics Drawing' subject. We used to sketch different graphical projections, front view, top view, side view and view from some specific angle of some specific objects on the portable drafting board with the help of drafter, protractor, clamps, pencil and other equipments.

Now a days, 3D movies are in demand and have been screened. These films are presented so that it requires two images, one for each eye, to achieve stereopsis. I just watched a 3D movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D just a day back. The film captures the live adventure actions and some scary moments, the objects supplied by computer generated graphics. To view films in 3D, viewers still have to wear special glasses. The day is not far when emerging 3D films will rule our cinema industry. Hollywood is keen in investing more on developing 3D films as the audience is willing to pay more for viewing a 3D film. You can see an array of movies here: List of 3-D films and future releases. I think, IMAX theatre will lead the way.
The day is not so far when you'd like to experience the new 3D TV from Philips and other comps as well as, without the use of special glasses. 3D TV without glasses will surely be a breakthrough and imazing innovation in this way. By seeing in 3D, we can say that 3D graphics will be integrated into our daily lives.
